A ureter stone, also known as a ureteral stone or ureterolithiasis, is essentially a kidney stone that has moved from the kidney into one of the ureters with the urine.
These stones are very small sometimes and may pass through the ureter into the bladder, and eventually pass out of the body when you urinate.
However, sometimes a stone can be too large to pass and can get lodged in the ureter. It may block the urine flow and can be extremely painful.
