Mrs. Kapoor (Identification number 34717) visited Dr. Thind’s clinic on 16th August 2017 with the complaints of hoarseness and the change of voice. The patient was unable to talk continuously for more than 15 minutes because of pain in the throat.
She was a diagnosed with bilateral vocal cord nodules in 2011. She also had the complaints of frequent cold and cough. Her appetite was disturbed because of the pain in the throat, due to which she was unable to eat properly.
She had taken conventional medication (steroids) for vocal cord nodule 6 years back, but it relapsed in the year 2015. She took steroids again for it. However, in 2016 she was advised for surgery as she became resistant to all medications.
Besides vocal cord nodule, she was also suffering from GERD due to improper eating habits and allopathic medication.
She was a teacher by profession. She was a confident, expressive, talkative, and independent lady, who was dedicated towards her work. She liked to keep herself busy.
She had no family history of vocal cord nodule, but her mother had the complaints of frequent cold, hypertension, and a history of heart attack.
